Minneapolis Buries Vancouver, 14-3
|
At Fox-Chong Park, the Vancouver Wolves and Minneapolis Vikings were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Mike Ramirez led Minneapolis to a win over Vancouver. The final score was 14-3. Ramirez scored 2 times, going 3 for 5. He also knocked in 4 runs batted in. Minneapolis starter Fidel Flores was credited with the win after throwing 83 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 8-5. Angelo Zelada recorded the save for Minneapolis, his 2nd of the season.
Minneapolis left fielder Ivan Ramirez contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a curveball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 29th hit of the season and put the Vikings ahead, 2-0.
Vancouver manager Zach Meinen said: "The beauty of this game is games like this only count as one loss."
The Vikings now own a record of 71-46.
