Lobster Pull Out Late Win, 2-1
|
The Maine Lobster banked on Aaron Kopta and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Washington hitters in check. The final score was 2-1, Lobster. Reliever Alex Esquibel picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Kelly Lazell took the loss. The third-place Lobster go to 55-61.
Leon Rose had a direct impact on the outcome. Rose contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Maine up, 2-1.
"The other side played a good game," said Washington manager Josh Cooan. "You tip your cap to them."
