Destroyers Walk It Off for 63rd Win of Season
|
The San Diego Destroyers picked up a win at Seaward Stadium, knocking off the Brooklyn Browns, 3-2. Starting pitcher Tom Parmenter was a big reason why. San Diego reliever Teh-huai Yap picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Wade Belk absorbed the loss. With the victory, the Destroyers upped their record to 63-53.
The decisive blow was delivered by Ryan Kenney in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 12-year veteran Alexis Burgos to win the game for San Diego. The home crowd went nuts.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Kenney told reporters after the game.
