Montreal turned a good performance from starting pitcher Stuart Stephenson into a 3-2 triumph over the San Diego Destroyers at Seaward Stadium. Satoyuki Kimura notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 4-0. Montreal is third in the Eastern Conference Antonio Detorres Division with a record of 59-56.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jon Sitterley? The 25-year old third baseman Sitterley stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Montreal up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Stuart had himself a pretty good evening," said Montreal manager Brendan Henry.
