Win Streak at 6 for Senators
|
The Washington Senators got a stellar performance from pitcher Jose Nereida, who handcuffed the Toronto offense en route to a win, 3-0, at The ESPN Zone. Nereida got the win, improving to 5-12. He gave up 4 hits and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Washington has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
In the top of the seventh, Caleb Graham stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Juggernauts were trailing 3-0, but had the bases loaded. That's when Julio Mendoza made a terrific pitch and Graham flied out. Gone was the dream of a Toronto comeback.
