Rangers Beat Kings, 3-2, at AT&T Park

In a low-scoring affair between the Buffalo Rangers and the Baltimore Kings, pitcher Mike Blain was the difference between victory and defeat. The Buffalo right-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Rangers win. In 6 innings, Blain surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Picking up the save was Alfred Vaglienty, his 1st.
Buffalo used a well-timed hit by Cole Hickey to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Rangers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Mike executed his pitches at a high level," said Buffalo manager Alex Beckman.
The second-place Rangers improved to 61-54.
