The San Francisco Friars had to overcome a big game from Tucson designated hitter Jose Pedroza to leave Staples Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-3. Pedroza went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. At 61-56, San Francisco is in second place in the Western Conference Felipe Solorzo Division.

Jason Gonzalez had a big solo home run for the Friars in the bottom of the fourth inning. With San Francisco leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he got a slider from two-time All-Star Miguel Moquete and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 9th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Friars ahead, 3-1.

Gonzalez attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
