Dragons Beat Visiting Greens, 3-1
|
The Portland Dragons converted a terrific effort from starter Carlos Rodriguez into a win over the Boston Greens at Portland Park. The Dragons won the game by a final score of 3-1. Jesse Czaplicki, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. At 54-61, the Dragons are currently 4th in the Western Conference Eric Wise Division.
Portland took the lead, 3-1, on Hideji Yamanaka's 17th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Boston pitcher Dave Pineda in the bottom of the seventh.
"At the end of the day, it's about putting up zeros," said Rodriguez.
