The Brooklyn Browns got a superb performance from pitcher Aaron Narduzzi. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Portland. The Dragons won the game, 4-3. Narduzzi threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Portland pitcher Melvin Luna got the win, upping his record to 5-3. Scott Carpenter got the loss. Portland now owns a record of 73-43.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 3-3, catcher Hector Montelongo won it for Portland. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Montelongo hit a 2-2 fastball from Scott Carpenter for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 4-3 win.

"This place went bonkers at the end," Montelongo said.
