Volk Miller, who leads the EC in complete games with 2, imposed his will on the Dragons from the get-go. Relying mainly on his changeup, the left-hander spearheaded the 4-1 Santiago triumph. Miller, the winner, moves to 7-9. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 3 walks. Santiago, at 57-58, occupies 4th place in the Eastern Conference Antonio Detorres Division.

Santiago took a 4-1 lead on Alonzo Armijo's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Armijo hit in the top of the eighth, left Portland pitcher Carlos Rodriguez visibly frustrated.
