Slumping Kodiaks Lose 11th Straight
The Miami Cyclones took Alaska pitcher Pablo Alvarez's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Tundradome. The final score had Miami getting past the Kodiaks, 6-1. Alvarez went 6 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 7. The winner in relief was Dakota Terrones. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 5-0. Now 63-53, Alaska has dropped 11 games in a row.

Miami used the timely hitting of Omar Cardenas to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cyclones on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I thought we were prepared," Alaska manager Alex King said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
