Browns Brewer Sizzles with Cycle
|
Getting 4 hits is a good day by any measure, but when those include a single, double, triple and a home run -- that's something special. Jon Brewer's day was a special one.
The right fielder hit for the cycle to spark the 12-6 Brooklyn Browns victory over the Seattle Arrows at Power Ballpark. Brooklyn manager Jason Cormier said he thought the whole lineup looked good in batting practice, but had not been expecting anything extraordinary from Brewer in particular.
"Jon caught me by surprise today," the skipper said. "He looked good before the game, but man, he looked unbelievable during it."
For the day, Brewer finished with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored to go with his 4 hits.
Jon Brewer hit an RBI double in the 1st, walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Aaron Narduzzi in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.
For the season, Brewer is hitting .236, batted in 5 runs with 1 home run and 9 runs scored.
