The San Francisco Friars topped the Miami Cyclones, 3-2, in Western Conference action at Staples Field. The standout performance belonged to San Francisco pitcher and Mesa, Arizona, native Michael Fridy. San Francisco is now 73-41, Miami 37-77.

In the bottom of the eighth, Antonio Fiss put San Francisco in front with a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, he rapped a run-scoring single, making the score 3-2, Friars.

Miami manager Chris Stephan said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
