Wolves Take Down Thunderbirds, 9-8
Fox-Chong Park was the site of some high drama.

At Fox-Chong Park, the Vancouver Wolves edged the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 9-8, in 12 innings. Vancouver right fielder Paul Rees, who jolted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Victor Franco, 3-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings.

The Wolves got a clutch hit from third baseman Steve Eisenhauer. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Wolves.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Rees said in reaction to the win.

The last-place Wolves are 49-67.
