Vikings Hand Aquas 8-3 Loss
|
The Minneapolis Vikings picked up a win at Tesoro Stadium, knocking off the Houston Aquas, 8-3. On the mound for Minneapolis was left-hander Joseph Stark. He played a key role in the triumph. Stark got the win, improving to 7-4. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Minneapolis is now 70-44, Houston 69-45.
Minneapolis used a well-timed hit by Bobby Aguinaga to capture the win. The left fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Vikings ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
In postgame comments to the Minneapolis Citizen, Aguinaga said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
