Washington Wins, 3-2, Over Spectres
|
The Washington Senators racked up a win at Sony Field at Philadelphia, bumping off the Philadelphia Spectres, 3-2. Alberto Zamora, who started for Washington, pitched effectively for his team. Washington reliever Alfonso Basulto got the win, raising his record to 7-6. Scott Franczak was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was Keung King, his 25th.
Washington used the hitting of Alex Tejeda to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Senators on top, 2-0. For the game, Tejeda had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Alberto can pitch. He moves the ball around," said Washington manager Josh Cooan.
The Senators sport a record of 44-70.
