Twins Tag Juggernauts with 5-0 Loss
|
The Cincinnati Twins defeated the Toronto Juggernauts, 5-0, at Molson Park. Walter Gravel, who led the EC in stolen bases with 40 in 2081, was a standout performer for Cincinnati. His 4 hits included 3 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 3 runs he scored and 1 he knocked in. Jose Uresti went 6.1 innings for Cincinnati to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with no runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. His record improves to 8-6. The 4th-place Twins are 54-60.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Luis Zatarain? The Cincinnati shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Twins on top, 2-0. For the game, Zatarain had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I felt good up there," said Gravel. "I saw the ball well."
