Buffalo Beats New York, 3-1
|
The Buffalo Rangers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Santiago Ontiveros, who muffled the New York offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Rangers win at Bison Stadium. Ontiveros got the win, improving to 5-8. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Buffalo has now won 4 straight.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from second baseman Jhoice Sanz. For the game, Sanz went 2-3 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 12th double of the season gave Buffalo a 2-0 lead.
"That was awesome. Really, really impressive, what Santiago did," said Buffalo manager Alex Beckman.
