Thunderbirds Deal Wolves 8-4 Loss
The Vancouver Wolves got a superb performance from pitcher Raul Garibaldi, but the Phoenix Thunderbirds still won the game, 8-4. Garibaldi threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Reliever Jimmy Hsia picked up the win. His record improves to 4-4. Pablo Mejia, who is a three-time All-Star, took the loss. The second-place Thunderbirds lifted their record to 66-46.

The decisive blow was delivered by Min-yul Lee in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a grand slam home run off 34-year old left-handed pitcher Ruben Hernandez to win the game for Phoenix. The home crowd went nuts.

"This stadium was a-rockin'," said Lee.
