The Vancouver Wolves beat the Tucson Toros, 9-6, at Aetna Stadium. Paul Rees, in particular, was impressive. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Victor Franco. He tossed 82 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 3 hits. Rikio Kaneko earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.

Dave Castanon had a big run-scoring triple for the Wolves in the top of the third inning. With Vancouver leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Tom Parmenter and swatted a triple to left. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wolves ahead, 3-0.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Castanon.

The last-place Toros now sit at 48-65.
