Rojas Leads Charge, San Francisco Blasts Vikings
|
At Minneapolis Grounds, the Minneapolis Vikings and San Francisco Friars were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The San Francisco Friars soundly defeated the Minneapolis Vikings, 17-3, at Minneapolis Grounds, with left fielder Bobby Rojas a major reason why. He went 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for San Francisco. With the win, San Francisco goes to 58-56, while the Vikings fall to 69-44.
Bob Buell helped out the San Francisco cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the right fielder drew 2 walks in 6 trips to the plate, while scoring 3 runs.
"We lit up the scoreboard," said San Francisco manager Erich Weatherholt.
