The San Francisco Friars got a magnificent performance from pitcher Shaun Chugh, who stifled the Boston offense en route to a 1-0 Friars win at Staples Field. San Francisco reliever Chris Isaacks was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Dryden Ice. The victory gives the Friars a record of 24-12.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Ruven Luevano was at the plate when San Francisco scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Friars to go in front, 1-0.

"Both teams played hard," said San Francisco manager Jeremy Cooan.
