Angels Drop Close One Late
The San Diego Destroyers polished off the San Antonio Angels by the score of 5-4. The largest share of the credit belonged to center fielder Don Zufelt. Zufelt went 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Destroyers. San Diego reliever Julio Olivo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Dave Pineda absorbed the loss. The win for the Destroyers raised their record to 19-18.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Zufelt hit a fastball from Dave Pineda for a run-scoring single. The Destroyers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Took some scratching and clawing," said Zufelt. "But we got it done."
