Legednary Park was the site for Western Conference action featuring the Vancouver Wolves and Phoenix Thunderbirds.

Pitcher Elmo Fasanaro was rock solid in helping the Phoenix Thunderbirds beat the Vancouver Wolves, 4-1. In 6.2 innings, Fasanaro surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Zach Baiza notched his 33rd save in 35 chances.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Thunderbirds had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when left fielder Juan Merino hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Marvin Charnock and made the score 2-1, Thunderbirds. Merino went 1 for 4.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Merino.

With the win, Phoenix upped its record to 56-54.
