The Havana Metropolitanos faced a tough opponent in Baltimore pitcher Adrian Portuondo, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Estadio Latinoamericano by a final score of 2-1. Portuondo went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Victor Balaguer collected save number 28. The 4th-place Kings now sit at 51-59.

Havana took a 2-1 lead on Pete Silver's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Silver hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Baltimore pitcher Andy Mejia visibly frustrated.

"Tough loss," said Baltimore manager Brad Carpenter. "Tough one to swallow."
