Riding the 2-hit performance of the 24-year old catcher Sean Waterhouse, the Kansas City Athletics stopped the Houston Aquas, 7-1, in 9 innings. The Athletics bumped their record to 64-47 with this win.
Had Waterhouse not come through in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Waterhouse hit a 2-run single. The Athletics never looked back after taking the 3-1 lead.
"We took home the win," said Waterhouse. "What's not to like?"
