Pantoja Helps Chicago Cruise to 11-3 Win
|
Due in large part to right fielder Javier Pantoja, the Chicago Phantoms sunk the Minneapolis Vikings, 11-3. Pantoja was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. The win for the Phantoms raised their record to 79-33.
Hector Abarca went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for Chicago. The 29-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Victor Garza. It was his 85th hit of the season.
"Things kind of got away from us," said Minneapolis skipper Ace Cooan.
