Close Win Moves Senators to 15-22
|
The Maine Lobster and Washington Senators provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Washington Senators picked up a win at The ESPN Zone, topping the Maine Lobster, 5-4. On the mound for Washington was right-hander Les Ralph. He played a principal role in the triumph. Keung King wrapped it up, recording his 6th save.
The Senators got a big at-bat from first baseman Mike Cote. For the game, Cote went 1-3 with a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Washington a 4-2 lead.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Ralph told the Washington Gazette. "Whatever it takes."
The Senators go to 15-22 with the win.
