The Havana Metropolitanos took St. Louis pitcher Andres Carrasquillo's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Estadio Latinoamericano. The final score had Havana getting past the Gaedels, 6-5. Carrasquillo went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 7. Vinny Ramos, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1 innings. Victor Balaguer picked up his 27th save of the season.

Had Alex Flores not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Flores hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Metropolitanos.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said St. Louis manager Mak Dolnick.

The Metropolitanos go to 53-58, putting them second in the Eastern Conference Solano Antas Division.
