Denver got a terrific game from center fielder Edgar Albuja. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Boston, 8-7, in 14 innings. Albuja went 3-6 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Boston reliever Naoto IIda picked up the win to move to 5-0. Francisco Sequeira suffered the loss. The Greens raised their record to 44-65.

The decisive blow was delivered by Richard Allemand in the bottom of the 14th when he hit a solo home run off five-time All-Star Francisco Sequeira to win the game for Boston. The home crowd went nuts.

"We just battled, never quit, and continued to grind out at-bats trying to create some opportunities," said Boston manager Matt Glazer.
