Athletics Rally For Late Win Over Aces
|
Las Vegas got a terrific game from right fielder Sardis Abrego. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Kansas City, 4-2. Abrego was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. Elijah Yates snagged the win in relief. He goes to 5-2 on the season. Roberto Sotomayor suffered the loss. After today's action, Kansas City sits at 62-47, while Las Vegas falls to 51-59.
Kansas City took a 4-2 lead on Ryan Clifford's 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Clifford hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Las Vegas pitcher Roberto Sotomayor visibly frustrated.
"We put together a nice win," Clifford said.
