Avispas Lose Late to Kodiaks
|
In a low-scoring game between Alaska and Santiago, pitcher John Rochford was excellent. The Alaska right-hander helped his team knock off the Avispas, 3-0. Andy Miao closed it out for Alaska, earning his 5th save. The win has Alaska at 15-22.
Alaska went in front, 2-0, on Yozo Mori's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Mori hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Santiago pitcher Victor Balaguer visibly perturbed.
"The key for me has just been attacking the zone and hitting my spots. When I'm throwing strikes and not falling behind in counts, those are the days when I pitch really good," said Rochford.
