Spectres Absorb 8-3 Home Loss
|
The 8-3 Washington win over Philadelphia was due in large part to Alex Tejeda. The Senators left fielder went 1 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The winner in relief was Zenjiro Koga. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 6-2. Washington currently is in 4th place in the Eastern Conference Zounes Kamuzu Division at 17-18.
Scott Flynn helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Washington a 2-0 lead.
Tejeda told a Washington Observer reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
