Blanton Stands Out in Salt Lake Shutout
|
Jason Blanton of the Salt Lake Stingers spun his magic on the Victoria Seals. He blanked them, 8-0, on 2 hits, registering 7 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Blanton said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Salt Lake skipper said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Jason pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
On the season, Blanton has 3 wins and 2 losses and a 2.91 ERA.
