Arrows Absorb 3-2 Loss at Tesoro Stadium
|
In a low-scoring contest between the San Antonio Angels and the Seattle Arrows, Arthur Gordon, who is tied for 6th in the WC in quality starts with 5, proved to be the difference. The San Antonio right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Angels win. Gordon picked up the win for San Antonio, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. David Klontz earned the save, his 8th.
Sergio Folha, who finished 2nd in the EC in extra base hits with 91 in 2072, helped out the San Antonio cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said San Antonio skipper Brandon Coroian.
The victory gives San Antonio a record of 20-15.
