Asano Slugs Vikings to 11-5 Win
The performance of Tohru Asano proved critical in helping Minneapolis beat San Francisco, 11-5. The Vikings designated hitter hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. The Vikings improved to 16-19.

The Friars had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Vikings going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the slick-fielding third baseman Hector Abarca came to the plate. Abarca hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 slider from San Francisco hurler Lyalya Markosiants. It was Abarca's 16th double of the year.
