Phoenix second baseman Billy Buelna contributed significantly to his team's 8-4 win over the Chicago Phantoms. Buelna, who is tied for 9th in the WC in doubles with 11, went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Thunderbirds. The win puts Phoenix at 13-21.

One of the clutch hits for Phoenix came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with no one out, Billy Morf, who finished 2nd in the WC in extra base hits with 89 in 2081, hit a 2-run single to put the Thunderbirds up, 5-2. For the game, the right fielder was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"Good, blue-collar kind of win," said Thunderbirds manager Joe Busch.
