The Montreal Harfangs beat the San Diego Destroyers, 9-4, at Mount Royal Park. Alrigo Dini, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Stuart Stephenson picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 6 in 5 innings. The defeat makes San Diego 1-3.

The Destroyers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Harfangs going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old third baseman Jon Sitterley came to the plate. Sitterley hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 fastball from San Diego hurler Jerry Cowley. It was Sitterley's 1st double of the year.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Dini.
