Victors Again, Minneapolis Win Streak at 8
|
The Minneapolis Vikings rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Jose Ortiz to a win, beating the Vancouver Wolves, 5-2, at Minneapolis Grounds. Minneapolis's winning streak has reached 8 games.
The Vikings got a big at-bat from third baseman Javy Trinidad. For the game, Trinidad was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Minneapolis a 3-0 lead.
Trinidad attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
