Scott County Goes Hitless Against Garza
|
In a dominant outing, Bill Garza of the Madison Sky Warriors totally silenced the bats of the Scott County Cougars, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the 3-0 victory, Garza faced only 31 batters, surrendered no hits, had 13 strikeouts and 4 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Madison manager said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.
"The Sky Warriors had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Garza pitched a heck of a ballgame."
To date this season, Garza has compiled a 2-3 record with a 5.85 ERA in 6 starts.
