Rodriguez Slams 5 Hits for Victoria
|
Victoria Seals third baseman Carlos Rodriguez had a day to remember at Victoria Park, ripping apart the Milwaukee Explorers and sparking the 11-3 Seals win.
Rodriguez wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Rodriguez told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Carlos Rodriguez singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
So far this season, Rodriguez is batting .387 with no home runs, 2 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He has 12 hits in 31 at-bats, 4 walks and a .472 OBP. Rodriguez has played in 10 games.
