The Washington Senators downed the Buffalo Rangers, 4-3, at Bison Stadium. Ruven Luevano led the way, going 2-for-3 for Washington. Picking up the win was Les Ralph. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 3. Picking up his 7th save was 31-year old right-handed pitcher Keung King.
Bill Mahanay had a direct impact on the outcome. Mahanay contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Washington up, 3-0.
Buffalo manager Alex Beckman said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Washington is 4th in the Eastern Conference Rex Rawnsley Division with a record of 15-18.
