The Miami Cyclones took Portland pitcher Cursive DeMarco's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Kroger Stadium. The final score had Miami getting past the Dragons, 5-1. DeMarco went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. The winner was Earl Starr in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Cursive DeMarco took the loss. Miami has now won 3 in a row.

Miami took a 3-1 lead on Diego Guajardo's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Guajardo hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Portland pitcher Bill Snelgrove shaking his head.

"We've got great fans," said Guajardo. "I hope they got what they came for."
