Vikings Score Late to Beat Wolves, 5-4
|
The Minneapolis Vikings picked up a win at Minneapolis Grounds, dropping the Vancouver Wolves, 5-4. Fidel Flores, who finished 2nd in the EC in saves with 28 in 2078, was the difference-maker. Minneapolis reliever Angelo Zelada got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Vicente Fuentes was tagged with the loss. Zee-loo Kim sewed up the save, his 11th.
Minneapolis took a 5-4 lead on Mike Ramirez's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Ramirez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Vancouver pitcher Vicente Fuentes visibly frustrated.
"We ground out the win," said Ramirez. "That's all that matters."
The Vikings have now won 6 straight.
