Pedroza Homers Twice in 7-2 Destroyers Win
|
The Tucson Toros and San Diego Destroyers left the fans buzzing.
The San Diego Destroyers topped the Tucson Toros by the score of 7-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Jose Pedroza. Pedroza hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Destroyers on the day. Vicente Dehos, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held the Toros to 1 run on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1.
San Diego took a 6-1 lead on Pedroza's 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Don Young in the bottom of the seventh, propelled San Diego to the win.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Pedroza.
The Destroyers, now 16-17, have won 4 in a row.
