Metropolitanos Earn 5-0 Home Win
|
The Havana Metropolitanos got a good effort from starter Dave Quintero in defeating the New York Titans at Estadio Latinoamericano. The final score was 5-0. Quintero, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 4 walks. The Metropolitanos bumped their record to 19-15 with this latest triumph.
Phil Wilde went 1 for 4 for Havana. The 31-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Jeong Lee. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Quintero.
