Athletics Beat Visiting Friars, 8-0
|
The Kansas City Athletics extended their winning streak.
Kansas City Athletics starter Keaton Bozek had all his pitches working at Ballpark of Missouri. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-0 Kansas City win over the San Francisco Friars. The Athletics have an impressive 23-10 record.
Henry Sosa had a big 2-run double for the Athletics in the bottom of the third inning. With Kansas City leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from Kelvin Vaquera, who is tied for 10th in the WC with a 1.15 WHIP, and swatted a double to left. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Athletics ahead, 3-0.
"When Keaton executes, it really doesn't matter what the other lineup is," said Kansas City field general Joe Monagle.
