A good performance from right fielder Tohru Asano helped the Los Angeles Stars defeat the Alaska Kodiaks, 6-5. Asano was 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Stars. Zach Baiza, now 2-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The win gives Los Angeles a season record of 20-14.

Los Angeles used a timely hit from Manny Sagastisado to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Stars ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"It was terrific getting this win," Asano said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
