Though he had a stellar game, Shigenobu Shimamoto could not prevent his team, the Portland Dragons, from losing, 7-6, to the Miami Cyclones. Shimamoto was 1-1 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The win takes Miami to 15-17.

The Cyclones got a big at-bat from third baseman Henry McAfee. For the game, McAfee went 2-4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 7th double of the season gave Miami a 6-5 lead.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Portland manager Greg Carpenter. "The effort was great."
