Twins Victors, 8-4, at Philadelphia
|
Due in large part to designated hitter Bobby Winterfeld, the Cincinnati Twins sunk the Philadelphia Spectres, 8-4. Winterfeld was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Cincinnati is now 3-1.
Cincinnati used a timely hit from Luis Zuniga to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Twins ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Zuniga.
