Glaciers Topple Avispas with Late Rally

The Denver Glaciers polished off the Santiago Avispas by the score of 7-4. The largest share of the credit belonged to left fielder Edgar Albuja. Albuja went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Glaciers. The win went to Victor Garza in relief, making him now 1-2. Victor Cacho took the loss for Santiago. Jeremy Lanham got credit for the save for Denver. It was his 5th of the year.
Albuja had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Victor Cacho, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Glaciers a 5-4 lead. It was the 8th double of the year for Albuja.
In postgame comments to the Denver Daily News, Albuja said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Glaciers raised their record to 21-11.
