San Diego Destroyers starter Gary Banks had all his pitches working at Brown Town. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-1 San Diego win over the Brooklyn Browns. San Diego sits at 20-12 in the early going.

San Diego used a well-timed hit by Don Zufelt to capture the win. The left fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put the Destroyers ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Gary showed what he's made of," said San Diego manager Steve Alstadt.
