Friars Reel-In 4-3 Win Over Toros
|
The San Francisco Friars overcame a good performance by Tucson left fielder Chris Brankin to knock off Tucson, 4-3, at Aetna Stadium. Brankin was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. San Francisco is now 15-18. Tucson is 12-20.
Minoru Kume, who finished 5th in the WC in triples with 8 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Kume contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-2.
Kume said his team "played with determination."
