With Late Score, Destroyers Beat Harfangs

The San Diego Destroyers finished off the Montreal Harfangs, 5-4. Much of the credit belonged to right fielder Jose Gonzales. Gonzales went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Destroyers. Harold Ruspoli, the 26th overall pick in the 2073 draft, was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Omar Soto. Julio Olivo got credit for the save for San Diego. It was his 9th of the year.
Gonzales had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 cutter from Omar Soto, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Destroyers a 5-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Gonzales.
Said San Diego manager Steve Alstadt: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
The triumph puts San Diego at 19-14 for the season.
